What it is — and what it isn’t
USAR documents confirm your dog’s registered status in our registry and reference the federal frameworks that apply to service animals (ADA, FHA, ACAA). They are not medical documentation, a diagnosis, or a prescription, and no registry — ours included — is required by law. Under the ADA, a service dog is a dog individually trained to do work or perform tasks directly related to a person’s disability — guiding, alerting, retrieving, bracing, or responding to a medical event, for example. Staff may ask two questions: whether the dog is a service animal required because of a disability, and what work or task it has been trained to perform.
