My son has autism and Finn — his service dog — is with him every day. I've dealt with other registries that felt like they were just printing plastic. USSAR felt different. The IDs look like they belong in a wallet. The verification page is clean. The team answered me on a Sunday. That matters.

It was quick and easy and it saved me time and not having to get rid of my service animal
This was the best decision I have made for me and my precious Oreo. She calms me and gives me support while at work and at home. Registering her was simple and affordable. I would recommend anyone who is thinking about registering their animal as a service animal to use this site.
Having Thus has been great. No problems, no worries ;just carrying on life with love and support. Some days aren't the easiest but consistent life to support keeps me going
"This service is amazing"
I love this service that they have provided for my sweet dog! The customer service has been wonderful also.
"College Student"
Honestly I had no issues. I am in college and once he was registered properly there were no issues. I think people would be surprise that most college students love having animals on campus. There are very few, although our school has a top rated veterinarian program. However, most students are not able to just go and pet.The animals or spend time with them . Just having a service dog around changed the entire morale of my classes.
"Amazing"
I’ve never had any issue . Has worked for housing and all legal things regarding my service dog.
"Loving"
I have had my dog registered since 2024. I have epilepsy and bipolar. Opie is trained to help me if I go into a seizure. I love being able to take him anywhere with me because I never know when I’m going to have a seizure. With me being bipolar, he is trying to comfort me, and this helps me a lot having all this information. Be able to see it on the front of my phone on my home screen lets people know that he will be with me at all times and not to remove him from me. It is amazing for myself and my family.
"Love the service"
I am very happy with the service provided by US service animal registrar it has helped me in many situations and kept my pup by my side in the most stressful situations and in some that we’re not so stressful nonetheless, I’m happy to have this service. I would recommend it to any pet owner who needs a service animal.
"My dog, my peace in stressful situations, my calm when needed."
There are many moment in public where the amount of people or certain noises flares ip my anxiety, my dog pick up on these cues and provides comfort, provides a temporary distraction that calms my nerves and my flight or fight to be able to carry on on my day to day task
It’s easy and you’re able to understand the differences between all the options! Having Diesel with me at all times has reduced my anxiety attacks, PTSD trigger, and depression/dissociation episodes!
"Thorough but simple process"
It was a simple process to fill out the questions needed and information necessary to get my animals registered. The shipping went fast and the different options available was so helpful.
"Easy, short wait, so excited!"
The questions were well explained and easy to go through. I am so glad to have my animals registered as ESA’s! The shipping process was fast and the different packages are great.
"Finally — a registry that isn't just a receipt"
After my PTSD diagnosis, I went through two other registries first. Both were basically PDF generators. USSAR actually shipped real hardware — the holographic card, the harness tag, the handler ID. The QR on the back scans straight to a clean verification page. I've shown it to three different TSA agents now without a single pushback.
"They told me to get a real letter — and meant it"
I called support to ask if they could write an ESA letter. They said no, and sent me a list of actual telehealth providers with licensed clinicians. One of the reps even walked me through how to verify my own clinician's license. I've never had a company tell me to spend less money with them. Registered the same week.
"Shipping was faster than Amazon"
Registered Tuesday night. Digital ID hit my inbox before I closed the laptop. Priority Mail envelope on my porch by Friday morning. The harness is actually built — adjustable, reflective, high-quality stitching. I was expecting cheap nylon. This is the real stuff.
"Great product, shipping hit a snag"
Four stars because USPS lost my first envelope somewhere between Ohio and North Carolina. I emailed support, they reprinted everything and shipped it Priority at no charge. Got it in two days. The product itself is excellent — the housing letter worked first try with my apartment complex. Took one star off just for the initial delay.
"Lifetime tier is worth it"
I went back and forth between Classic (annual) and Premium (lifetime) for a week. Picked Premium and zero regrets. My PSD is 4 years old and this saves me renewal hassle for the next decade. Plus the premium harness and docs packet made my first flight with her seamless.
"Apple Wallet pass is a game-changer"
Signed up for Pro monthly so I could get the wallet pass. Absolute best decision. When staff ask for ID, I tap my phone and there it is — registration number, photo, status. Updates automatically if I change anything in my account. I don't carry paper anywhere anymore.
"The verification page is the best part"
My landlord was dubious at first. I had him scan the QR on my registration card — took him straight to my verification page showing my cat Luna's name, photo, and active ESA status. He was satisfied in about 30 seconds. The transparency is what sold me and what sold him.
"Good product, wished Essential had more printed docs"
I registered Essential thinking I'd get more paper documents. The tier clearly spells out what's included but I read quickly. Upgraded to Classic a few weeks later — they credited my Essential payment toward Classic, no problem. Just wish I'd read more carefully up front. Three stars for my mistake, not theirs.
"Replaced my lost card in 3 days"
I lost my wallet (and therefore my printed ID) while traveling. Logged into my account, ordered a replacement card — they shipped it Priority Mail to the hotel I was at. Three days. No hassle. This is how customer service should work.
"Build Your Own saved me $100"
I only needed the digital ID and an animal ID card — none of the other stuff. Build Your Own let me pick just those two items for $59 total. No pressure to upgrade, no forced package bundling. The à la carte pricing is incredibly refreshing.
"The DOT form made flying painless"
First flight with my PSD was this month. The DOT transportation form that came with Premium was already filled out with my info — I just added the flight number and handed it over at the gate. Gate agent said "perfect, thanks" and waved us through. Smoothest travel experience I've had.
"They called me back when I had a question"
I emailed with a question about photo upload. They emailed back within an hour and then CALLED me when my reply got stuck in a spam filter. Actual humans, actual phone calls. I thought that went away around 2015. Five stars, will recommend.
"TSA agent didn't even blink"
Got the Premium bundle before a work trip to Atlanta. Handler ID, dog's ID on the harness, DOT form printed and folded in my carry-on. The TSA agent at JFK looked at the harness tag, asked the two ADA questions, and waved us through. No "let me get my supervisor." No "is this a real service dog." That's the first time flying with him felt routine instead of a confrontation. Worth every dollar.
"My hospital admin actually called to verify"
I'm a nurse and needed my seizure-alert dog at a continuing-ed event at a partner hospital. Their administrator called the number on the ID card to verify the registration — the USSAR rep answered, confirmed the reg, and was done in two minutes. She told me afterward she'd never had a registry pick up the phone. Got my CE credits, brought my dog, no drama.
"Good product, confused landlord — fixed fast"
Four stars only because my building manager initially said the USSAR housing letter "wasn't enough" — a pretty common misread of the FHA. I called USSAR, they emailed me a plain-language supplement explaining the law in landlord-language. The manager reversed his position in 48 hours. Should the initial letter be clearer on its own? Maybe. Did support fix it fast? Yes.
"32-year vet — letter got me into my new apartment"
Army vet with PTSD. My VA clinician wrote the ESA letter; I came to USSAR for the registration card, the housing letter template, and the tags. My new landlord wanted "proof of registration" even though that's not technically required — but having the card and the letter on file made the conversation five minutes long instead of a three-week fight. Cat is happy. I am happy.
"Harness fit actually matches the measurements"
Ordered Elite for my mobility dog — 87-pound German shepherd. I measured her girth three times before submitting because I've had bad experiences with other sites' adjustables. USSAR's harness fit right on the first try, no gaps, pads where they should be. DOT form was already in the envelope. She does real work; finally has gear that looks like it.
"Decent card, wish training resources were included"
Three stars. The ID card is fine, the verification page works, and honestly I don't regret paying. But for the price I expected at least some linked training material — a PDF, a video, anything about public-access manners. Instead you get a registration and a certificate. If all you need is documentation, it's fine. If you thought you were buying training help, read carefully first.
"Harness D-ring is in the right place for a wheelchair"
My service dog pulls a manual wheelchair and retrieves dropped items. The scannable tag became a real conversation-ender at a grocery store when a clerk challenged us — she scanned the QR on her phone, saw the verification page, apologized. The D-ring on the harness is also positioned correctly for a wheelchair push attachment, which most service-dog harnesses get wrong. Detail matters.
"Build Your Own saved me real money"
I already had a good harness and didn't need printed tags. Built the package with just the digital animal ID, the handler ID card, and the housing letter — ended up around half the price of the Classic tier. Checkout clearly showed what I was and wasn't getting. Rare to see a registration site that lets you skip the stuff you don't need.
"Panic attack at O'Hare — the wallet pass saved me"
Had an episode at an airport gate. Could not pull my physical ID out of my bag — hands shaking too much. Opened Apple Wallet, tapped the pass, showed the gate agent. She looked at it, nodded, moved on. The fact that the card exists on my phone without having to unlock anything or navigate apps is the whole difference between "functional" and "actually helpful when I need it."
"Clunky registration flow, good recovery"
Two stars because the registration form crashed on me twice during photo upload — I think my phone browser couldn't handle the file size. Lost the data the first time. Support emailed me a direct-upload link within an hour and walked me through it on the phone. The actual product is fine. The form itself really needs work on mobile. Leaving this here so they know.
"Reflective harness, freezing parking lot, 3 AM"
Type 1 diabetic, low-blood-sugar alert dog. I work hospital overnights and walk across a dark staff parking lot at 3 AM in Wisconsin winter. Bought Elite specifically for the reflective harness. Three weeks in, the reflectivity is holding up against salt spray, which is more than I can say for any other high-vis gear I've owned. Card gets the job done inside. Harness gets the job done outside.
"Good card, QR code a little small"
Four stars. Everything works — the verification page scans cleanly, the handler ID photo is sharp, the housing letter was accepted. Only nitpick: the QR code on the ID card is smaller than on some other registries. Older gate agents with worse camera focus sometimes needed two tries. Not a deal breaker, but I'd spring for a bigger QR if there was a v2.
